I retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with over twenty years of total service (including two tours in Iraq, one in Afghanistan, and one in the Joint Task Force at Guantanamo Bay, plus multiple tours at the National Training Center and the Joint Readiness Training Center). My children are grown now, and both are living outside the U.S. and married to non-U.S. citizens. My only grandchild is 1) genetically half-Chinese, 2) culturally Chinese [but with an American father], and 3) officially a U.S. citizen [who’s never set foot in the U.S.].

I write, read, enjoy, and comment on fanfiction in the universe of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series. Lately, politics and my daily life constitute the majority of my posts here, but fanfiction started out as the primary focus for this page, and I still do as much of that as I can.

My wife and I still desire, and plan, to retire overseas sometime in the next few years. I’m currently most interested in Spain — the ‟sun coast” — but it’s likely that we’ll spend at least the beginning living in China (because that’s where the enchanting granddaughter is!), and you can bet there will be posts about that once we get started.

In the meantime, my wife and I live in a 24-foot motorhome and visit various parts of the United States as circumstances allow. Might be some posts on that subject as well.
